What makes Discord different?

A Place to Call Home
Discord gives you the power to create your own place to belong. Your Discord server is your home, shared with only the special people you invite.
Organized Conversation
Topic-based text channels give you an organized way to talk about all the things you love. Share your latest cooking mishaps while coordinating next week’s game night.
Pop in to Talk
Ready to hang out? Grab a seat in a voice channel. They’re your server’s lounge areas, designed so you can pop in and out of voice and video conversations throughout the day.

Who uses Discord?

People use Discord for all kinds of hanging out: from live karaoke nights, to screenshare group painting, to virtual wedding parties. People create Discord servers for gaming, yoga classes, comedy fan clubs, and even run entire podcasting businesses. Discord is for anyone who could use a place to talk with their friends and communities.
Discord helps us keep our community tight-knit and well-organized across several classes and dance projects, while also providing a safe space for dancers of all ages to share their love of K-Pop. Our members are always connecting in fun and meaningful ways in our server.

The different channels and @mentions make it much easier to keep information straight. The voice chat is fantastic for one-on-one meetings during my teacher's office hours, so we can quickly hop in a voice channel and have a conversation. Using Discord brought us closer together as a physics class.

Discord was the answer, and I can't get over how easy it was. Every one of our shows is produced using Discord because of it's near-zero latency, ease of use, and video quality.
